ABOUT US
Electrosound is a small business specialising in the manufacture of power supplies and other bits and pieces for school Science and Technology departments.
Electrosound was established in 1985 when Phil Walsh, the founder, was working as Head of Physics at Cardinal Hinsley School, Harlesden.
Phil decided that rather than buying from the large catalogues, he would make his own power supplies for his department. Other teachers saw them and ordered some for their own schools.
The remit for any of their products was that they should be as inexpensive, over-engineered and as child and teacher proof as they could make them. Thus Electrosound was born.
Incidentally the name, 'Electrosound', evolved from the fact that, at the time, Phil was manufacturing equipment for pop groups as a sideline.
The company has grown to the point that they are now one of the major school power supply manufacturers in the country.
Presently, 96% of their products are made at their factory at Rayne, Essex and due to their success, they are now in their fourth premises.
