IRWIN Heat Pad

A stunning new development in science teaching.  This little pad   (100mm diameter) is designed to replace Bunsen burners in many situations. It is extremely handy if you are teaching in a room without a gas supply. The pad can reach a maximum temperature of 90 degrees C and is designed to heat beakers, conical flasks etc. It comes fitted with 1.5m of silicon cable and a mains plug.  The unit is waterproof so there is no danger from splashes.  The pad comes complete with a heatproof, ceramic mat to protect benches and table surfaces. We originally designed it for Primary schools but are selling just as many to Secondary schools!

IRWIN Heat Kit

Alert - Red and Green Lasers

CLEAPSS have recently cast doubt on our lasers (see below) stating that they are of greater power than 1mW.

We have checked this and found it to be true. However we have also tested for infra-red content, which is the danger to sight with lasers, and found that there is no infra-red content in the light. The boss regularly demonstrates their safety by shining the lasers in his eyes - with no ill effects. Therefore we are continuing to sell the lasers as safe for use in schools.

Irwin EA0030 Signal Generator

Specifically designed for Primary and Lower Secondary use, Raymond the Raybox has triple and single slits built in.  In addition, three primary colour filters are fitted to allow the standard colour mixing discs to be easily produced with the aid of two plane mirrors (supplied).  Raymond is operated from any 6V supply (batteries or power supply) and is fitted with 1m of cable terminated with 4mm plugs.  Raymond is supplied with a spare lamp.

The heart of any laser is the lasing element.  The element requires 3V dc which can be sourced from two AA/AAA cells.  Enables the hobbyist to construct a class II laser at a very competitive price.

Class II lasers are inherently safe as they have a power of less than 1mW and have zero infra-red content. They are the only type of laser approved for use in schools.
